Practice is held at Austin Gymnastics Club (13776 US-183, Austin, TX 78750) at the following practice times:
Members are not required to attend all practices, but if you are aiming to be a competitive member it is suggested to try to go to practice at least once a week. Gymnastics is a sport that requires a lot of skill, so attending practice regularly is be beneficial! Additionally, for larger competitions, such as Nationals, there are a limited number of spots available and practice attendance will be taken into consideration when deciding who will be competing at such meets.
Our captains are the stars of the show at practice. Have a question? Need a spot? Don't know what skills you need in your routine? Our captains know gymnastics like the back of their hand. They would love nothing more than to help you improve!
Practices are as much as you make them to be. Our team generally warms up and stretches together, but after that you are free to work on what you'd please (depending on what events are available to us at the time.)
The practice facility has both men's and women's events, as well as a rod floor, foam pit, tumbl trak, extra mats for drills and safety, and conditioning equipment. We want to prioritize safety, so if you need help learning something new please consult with a captain to ensure you practice in the safest way possible.
Feel free to drop on by during one of our practice times to check it out! We look forward to seeing you!
