Is experience required?
Not at all! We offer two tiers of membership: Recreational and Competitive. No experience level is required for either team, as everyone is welcome to compete. Membership is based on an individuals' comfort level with competing and ability to commit time to practices. Whether a complete beginner or a former elite gymnast, we are more than happy to have new members!
Do I have to try out?
Yes, kind of. While membership on the Competitive Team is not based on experience level, it is based on sportsmanship, ability to commit time to practices, and work ethic. If you do not wish to compete, or cannot adhere to the time commitment, you are welcome to join our Recreational Team. If you are interested in joining either team for Texas Gymnastics, contact our team captains.
How much does it cost?
The first week is free, however, the try out process consists of one (1) month of practice at a cost of $50. This will be paid at the beginning of the second week of the tryout month and is non-refundable. If he or she makes the team, he or she will owe the remaining :
$150 out of the total $200 in dues (if a recreational member)
$250 out of the total $300 in dues (if competitive member with apparel)
$450 out of the total $500 in dues (if competitive member without apparel)
Where and when do you practice?
We practice at Austin Gymnastics Club on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, Wednesday's from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, and on Sundays from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Do you have to attend every practice?
No, but the time you put into working out affects your eligibility to compete in certain meets where a limited number of competitors are allowed. All competitors must show the captain their routines the week before a competition.
Can I take a tour of the facility?
Yes and no. You may have noticed that we do not have an on-campus facility, so if you would like, you may drop by the facility during our practices to come talk to us, and we can show you around.
I don't have a car, so how do I get to practice?
Because members live all over Austin, we have a carpool system as well as a group message system for members to get rides from each other. There will always be somebody to help you get to practice!
